Valentines Day seems to be the perfect day to repost this. DANG...I didn't even get to break out the pretty colors this time.

Brand New Blackboard

Once again the slate is blank.

What will I draw or will I paint?

Where will I be? I'm redesigning again

Starting from scratch - I feel lucky, you see.

Surrounded by artists, on the sea or by a lake?

On a houseboat or in a cabin? Does this place exist?

Will I have to build it with my shovel or my rake?

The picture forms slowly, the vision more clear

Fresh papayas on my table

Sunbeams thru my windows and thru my doors

Kitty on my lap and Pups at my knee

Redesigning again, a whole brand new me.

Bright gauze dresses in the colors of the sun,

Glistening glass hairsticks hold long cinnamon curls

Pretty colors for my fingers and girlie colors for my toes

Soft sweet lotions for my skin

A lizard on my palm tree, his name is George and he has kin.

I won't share this chalk, won't share this paint.

You're welcome see. Please, come and peek.

Starting over again and it's all about me.

My face will smile, my eyes won't weep

'cause this time the Blackboard is MINE to keep!

Freeze Frame:

After a hard day at work, I came home and thought I'd take a float in my little pool. The water was perfect, I skimmed the pool and felt the warm sun sink into my skin. I started to relax.

I decided it was time for a float and an unwind. The sun was a gentle sun. The breeze soft and sweet. Not a noise but for a lone red bird singing "pretty pretty pretty". As I drifted along, I noticed the clouds...gentle sweeping plumes, twisting and curling into glorious feathery patterns.

I let my hand glide across the water. It felt like the finest silk, so soft you wonder if you really feel it or imagine you feel it. All my senses sweetened, I involuntarily started to hum "Amazing Grace". I felt cherished and cared for, the way I had always thought love must feel.

My sun had completed its days work and quitely slipped behind a beautiful oak tree...and in that brief moment, I had no wants, I had no needs. I saw myself thru the Lord's eyes and knew for the first time, my life is perfect. Thank you for my gift, that was always there.
