Brand New Blackboard
Once again the slate is blank.
What will I draw or will I paint?
Where will I be? I'm redesigning again
Starting from scratch - I feel lucky, you see.
Surrounded by artists, on the sea or by a lake?
On a houseboat or in a cabin? Does this place exist?
Will I have to build it with my shovel or my rake?
The picture forms slowly, the vision more clear
Fresh papayas on my table
Sunbeams thru my windows and thru my doors
Kitty on my lap and Pups at my knee
Redesigning again, a whole brand new me.
Bright gauze dresses in the colors of the sun,
Glistening glass hairsticks hold long cinnamon curls
Pretty colors for my fingers and girlie colors for my toes
Soft sweet lotions for my skin
A lizard on my palm tree, his name is George and he has kin.
I won't share this chalk, won't share this paint.
