Topic: Year of Jewelry

I'm behind a week...so this is my Week 6 offering.  The theme this week was Wild Winter Winds...something we know all about right now as we are under a blizzard warning...YUK!

This weeks theme in Year of Jewelry is "Take Flight".  I guess I'm wanting vacation. The place we typically go is way way way up north in Wisconsin. One of our most awesome things to do is watch the eagles fly and count loons and blue heron. This most awesome place is named Turtle Flambeau Flowage.  Here's my tribute:

Year of Jewelry week 2 theme is "Kisses in the Mist".  I thought of Wuthering Heights when Catherine and Heathcliff meet on the cliffs by the sea under a shining moon.  I made this piece for Catherine to wear when she goes to meet Heathcliff...hey, the girl needs jewelry too, right?  Here's my entry for this theme.  A wire work necklace made with coppar, Swarovski crystals, round and facetted poppy jasper, red tiger eye and a lampwork vessel I made a couple weeks ago.  Next weeks' theme is "Take Flight"...OHHH...I've got big plans..we'll see.

I've become involved with a project called "Year of Jewelry".  Each participant has committed to making one piece of jewelry per week and posting on a common blog.  Click on the link in the blog menu at the right to see all entries.  Each week has a theme, if you choose to accept the mission.  My entry for the first week "Morning Zephyr" (zephyr is a light breeze...had to look that one up)...is a pair of earrings made from my lampwork beads.  I tried to capture a "light breeze in the glass.
